Mega Bibs for a Baby Shower

Baby news is always exciting, so when Renee and Alisa told me they were organising a blogging baby shower for Jenya, I was straight in. I'm a practical person at heart which means I like to give practical gifts. Something that will be used over and over again. The Mega Bib was one of those baby items for me. They provide great coverage and the snap up crumb catcher is perfect for catching dropped   << Continue Reading >>

Handmade Gifts for Baby Boys: Reversible Bib

Adding to my Gifts for Baby Boys round up, I've got a pattern and tutorial for a reversible baby bib. I think bibs make such a great gift because they are just so handy! Bibs get used for a lot of cleanups around here and I've always got several on hand. Making the bib reversible means you get to buy two yummy fabrics to show off on your bib! Yay for fabric shopping! You can also cut both   << Continue Reading >>

The Big T Nursing Top

Selfish Sewing Week starts today and I've already got something to show you. I did kinda cheat and make it early, but that's ok...right?! Selfish Sewing Week is being organised by Rachael from Imagine Gnats and Jill from Made with Moxie. What a great idea! I think most of us sew a lot more for our kids than ourselves. Fashion and breastfeeding don't really go that well together. It's not easy   << Continue Reading >>

A Bit of Nursery Decoration

When I was pregnant, I had a sleep in one morning and hubby surprised me by painting the nursery. It looked fantastic and really inspired me to get crafting some things to go in it. We chose Dulux Timeless Grey for the walls and my plan was to have orange accessories. The first thing I worked on was this Fox softie. I wasn't able to find an orange in the colour I wanted so I ended up using red.   << Continue Reading >>

A Couple of Birth Stories

I know a lot of people like to read birth stories and I really liked to read them when I was pregnant. I wanted to write this down while the memory was still fresh. I feel that Ted's birth story makes a lot more sense if you know Roman's too, so I've put them both down here. The pictures below are from bath time when they boys were both about 2 weeks old. I can't believe how similar they   << Continue Reading >>

Haaaaaave you met Ted?

Theodore George arrived earlier this week and we are thrilled! He is known to all of us as Ted, Teddy, Teddy Bear, Tiny Ted, Big Ted, Little Ted and the list goes on.He decided to arrive 1 week after his due date and in the middle of the night. Tipping the scales at 4.02kg (8lb 14oz) and 54cm (21 1/4") he is a big baby but seems tiny to us. The midwife said he would've been 9lbs but had already   << Continue Reading >>

With the new baby due to arrive any day now, I've been making up a couple more bags. I wanted to make a Winter-weight one but   << Continue Reading >>

The Fancy Pants Leggings Blog Tour

I have made so many pairs of these leggings that I don't need to refer to the pattern directions anymore. I was lucky enough to be a tester for the pattern during the design stage, so Roman is all set for Winter with several pairs of pyjamas pants. I tested out all kinds of knits from my stash, stretch knit, baby rib knit, jersey and interlock and they all worked a treat. I love the bum panel! It   << Continue Reading >>

My Surprise Virtual Baby Shower!

I have a group of women I call my friends, but we've never met in person (except for one). They all write crafty blogs, much like my own and at some point in time, I made a comment on their blog or they made a comment on mine and we've struck up a friendship. I chat to some of them almost every day, some not as often, but I still think of them as my friends. Sometimes I think that's   << Continue Reading >>
